I own some Yamaha NS-A 635A Monitor Speakers I inherited and Polk Monitor 30's. I hooked up my Polks to my stereo one time just to see how they sounded and they shocked me! I them out from the wall probably 3 feet and the bass sounded better with them out that far then next to the wall. I'm hoping to one day get another pair for stereo music as I am using them for surround speakers now. they work nice that way too.
there are the pictures attached, you can click "view" to see larger I believe.
Junk and all, cd's lying around, woofers dismantled, cabinet damping and wires:)
the Yamaha's but I've decided that they sound better than my DIY's because the crossovers in the DIY's suck. I listen to a lot of Organ music and the quieter high notes sound awful. it's not the Cd player because it sounds find on the Yamaha's. I'm sure they'll sound great when I replace the crossovers or upgrade them... one day:)
I have one picture of the Yamaha's along side my DIY's.
