Hey, new to the forum. Is $599.90 a good price for a pair of cherry TSi500's? Also have an opportunity to buy a pair of RTiA7 cherry for $1050. Money is still tight, so the TSi are attractive. I already have a pair of TSi300's.

Unfortunately they are black. Need to be cherry ones.
Polk Direct is where I got my TSi 300's for $275 shipped for the pair and $85 for a CS10. Great deal for like new refurbished units.

Hello, I own both the Tsi500's & 300's as rears great combination. For $599 thats a very good price. But if you can swing it go for the Rti as they are an upgrade over the Tsi series.

What are you trying to do?

5.1 surround? If so, do you have a center channel?

RTi A7's are nice and I have a pair. However, the TSi500 is cheaper and will allow some money left over for a center channel if you need one.

Therefore, you can get it all done and use the TSi300's as rear speakers.

RTi A7's have a better crossover, wider frequency response, and a really beautiful wood finish. Downside is that they cost a little more. I think they are worth it, but that's me.

Discussing prices don't work well on forums sometimes.

Also, look at the Polk Audio online store for deals.

Eventually I plan a 7.1 system. I currently have a new Pioneer SC 35 Elite receiver. I have a Polk CS10 for the center channel. I have one set Tsi300 probably for the rears and probably buy another for the middle. Looking now for the fronts, either the TSi500 or RTiA7 or RTiA9 which Polk Audio Direct have a set for $1080 shipped.

Well, I'm glad to see another Pioneer Elite fan with a SC-35.

I have the SC-35 on all RTi A towers. A9 fronts and A7 rears. Man, I love them. That all I have to say.

Man, the SC-35 is putting plenty power to those TSi300's and the CS10 center. Their peak power rating is 150 watts (TSi300) and 125 watts (CS10). The SC-35/37 will put out 135 watts in 5 channel mode to each speaker. 125 watts in 7 channel mode. This was measured in Home Theater Mag at .1% distortion.

I bet those TSi300's and CS10 center sound pretty good seeing you have plenty clean power for them. I'm sure the center is getting a good work out.

Haven't hooked SC 35 yet as I just got it. Re-doing the system after selling off the old one.

Why is it that most poeple that run their polks off of the pio sc series receivers LOVE their setups, and those poeple who buy cheap HTIB type receivers always compain about lacking this or that...? There's your proof that there's no replacement for powering speakers properly off the bat!

so to the OP: you are starting your system off on the right foot by getting the right gear (my hat is off to you, because that can't be said for many new poeple posting here!), therefore it makes sense to work within your budget and probably worry more about timbre matching to what you already have. You will likely be happy with either speaker because you have the equipment to do them justice

Well, I "pulled the trigger" and bought me a pair of cherry RTi A9's from Polk Direct. They cut the price to $999.99 shipped for the last pair in stock. The next to the last one sold for $1,080 earlier today, so we they cut the price, I had to do it. Can't wait to get those beasts up from their San Diego warehouse!

The RTiA9's arrived in town yesterday, but I'll wait until Monday afternoon to take delivery from the trucking company. Polk really got them out quickly!

Since you don't have a sub yet, you may have to run them full range, but once you buy a good sub, you should run the speakers on a "small" setting as they will likely produce cleaner sound in that range. Floor standers are often rated to go to fairly low frequencies but don't do a very good job doing it and even compromise quality/clarity of the higher frequencies trying to play the low range. So I would try, both full range and small and see what you like better. I have not had the a9s but I have found this to be true with every speaker I have tried so far, so just play around with it ;-)

Got them yesterday. Trucker unloaded them into my garage pallet and all. Took me awhile to unbox them. Sure got sweaty as it is not easy. They are a b**ch to move around. One looks perfect but the other one had just a little nick on the left bottom corner by the foot. Can't really see it. Anyone use the carpet spikes?

I use the carpet spikes on my A7's and they work really well.

    Awesome deal on the A9's!
