Hello guys,

just like the title says i am looking into buying a satellite system and was wondering which is better.

I have not heard either but i know that for ht a lot of people prefer def tech. Wondering if i should take the crutchfield offer and get a free pair of atrium speakers or just order the procinema from def tech.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also how would the promonitor 1000 from def tech compare with rti4?

Regards,

eduardo

I've ProMon 600, which has the same tweeter as the 1000, but with 3.5" mid, instead of 5". and Rti8, which has the same tweeter as the Rti4

I can tell you that the DefTech sounds clearer in the high frequencies, especially for music. The tweeters in the Rti series are bright, but not in a good way. I am replacing my Rti set with Klipsch RF-52II this weekend. As you can see, I don't mind bright speakers, but the brightness from the Rti series is terrible for music.

I've not heard the TL yet, but if they use the tweeter from the LSI series, then I bet it should sound the same or better than the DefTech.

Between the TL350 and deftec 1000, this is a super hard decision. I'd have to listen them both in the same room to decide.

 Ideally, you should listen to both systems and trust your own ears. You are on a Polk forum and getting unbiased recommendations can be a little tricky. Unless you can find someone that has experience with both systems (IMHO very unlikely) and is willing to share the absolute truth about both system (pros & cons of each), you might as well throw the dices to make your selection. Are you in a US area where you would be entitled to a Blackstone demo? If so, check Mark (Doro's) sticky on demos. I beleive he has some series on the go presently and if the Tl3's are not a go yet, the demo will surely occur in the near future. If you do so, I'll be more than please to read your educated review and impressions on the package.
