20hz, I am convince everyone understands the importance of the WAF however, for this specific set-up SDAs will definitley not sound good. IMHO, the OP is doing the right thing by trying to sell his SDA. For his room arrangement, sealed speakers or at best front firering speakers would be the OP's best choice.
audiocr381ve; I am not sure if your budget can allow you to spent and how true you want to be to your wife? If budget allows, you might want to consider those new babies; http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/lsim/specs.php#bookshelf as I can almost garantee that if she is OK with pricing the look should meet WAF and oyu should not have too many issues with positionning since those babies are sealed enclosure.
Definitely a great speaker but unfortunately placement is critical and your present personal set-up can not accomodate them.
I do not know if this is at all possible for you but try to get involved in auditioning the LsiM703 and see what you and the wife thinks. If you are patient, I am convinced some Polkie would love them if your brother prefers his mean dog to great sound.Correct me if I am wrong, are those also sealed enclosure? If so, if you like them and they have the WAF, they might do the trick for you.
Cheers!

You are one of the few gentlemen around here. I appreciate your response. Very gracious.
I will check into the speakers you mentioned, thanks for the recommendation and advice! -
Audio...dont get to concerned about the peanut and juju bead heads that fall around here.
And to answer one of the above we help cuz its what we do and if you dont get it well perhaps your wealth of audio knowledge can find a better place to yell C is for Cookie.
Audio can you consider not having the rack between your speakers? Putting gear between speakers is never as good as not putting gear between speakers.....just a thought.
Have fun and I would try as much stuff as you can. Enjoy the trip.

That's a great idea. The one you see there now was picked up for very cheap and we're realizing it's just too big anyway.
It's very hard when people are forcing their advice, get **** when it's not taken, speak unbelievably condescendingly, are quick to judge, and don't know how to have a little respect. That's Club Polk unfortunately. I learned a lot around here but somehow I have more than a few haters who A. Believe I'm somebody else under a different screen name (wow, get a life) B. I didn't take their advice C. Are boys who shave and don't know any better.
I've definitely overstayed my welcome. I hope the guys who are a cancer to this forum eventually die off (not literally). I hope you and the few other gentlemen around here continue to help and help graciously, it's much appreciated. -
Bring on the flames,,, Not really,
Audio, you can sure dish but cannot take it. Probably why some of the guys thought you were someone else. I joked about that once but never again.
I agree with Brock because we usually see eye to eye. I am not kissing **** as you tried to say. And the grow a pair comment was a joke. I understand the WAF I have been married for 11 years, and compromise happens but no I wouldn't sell my SDA's cause she said they had to go. But that is me, I am not in your situation.
Maybe if you were able to get a smaller cabinet to keep the speakers off adjoining wall of the apartment next door you wouldn't have the neighbor issue. And I am sorry, unless you are blasting the stereo after 9 or 10pm then you neighbor has zero gripe. And she could have spoken up before if she did.
As far as the club goes, You haven't overstayed your welcome by any means. But if you must go, good luck. I will miss your manic personality,
