Out in the middle of nowhere and all we get is stupid satellite internet where you can barley upload a picture or download a song without it chocking. And now with apple introducing and pushing icloud and online app store I will have to leave just to get apps or the new OS. Even after talking to both verison and comcast they could care less. Just venting not to mention I would love to rent movies from itunes and or buy tv shows as well not to mention BR live content.

Just an FYI, Apple isn't in any way forcing you to use any of the cloud stuff, you can still do things the same way you always did if you want to.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I spent a year living in Jersey about a decade ago and am familiar with your area. It's hard to believe that you don't have some kind of 'better' access there? How far out are you?

    Haha, F+.

I'm surprised you get such awful bandwidth. Back in the day some friends of mine had satellite internet. The latency ("ping") was horrendous (which sucks if you're a gamer but otherwise isn't that much of a big deal) but their bandwidth was solid.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Are you sure that's not dial-up? We often have 5 or 6 devices connected at once... yikes!

    Dayum...that's painful.

Virgin Mobile offers unlimited 3g for $50/month. You can buy a MiFi air card and connect 5 devices to it. I've used the service in LA (that's Lower Alabama) and had good coverage.

Maybe not an ideal permanent solution, but could get you through until something better comes along.

Have you had them come out and check it out? It should be better than that for satellite.

You can pay for higher speed up to 5 Mb however it get VERY pricey and you still have data caps which if you exceed will time you out and down to speeds slower than 56 K dial up for 24 hours.

Marvelous. As Apple leads the trend to moving all of your entertainment and photos to the cloud, the exec's at your ISP are doing cartwheels on their marble floors because they will have their lobbyist cry to congress over how much bandwidth the average user consume beyond just Netflix customers. Caps will lower, prices will go up, and we'll start to hear crazy logic like unlimited bandwidth up to your cap. Oh, wait. That's already happening.

Sorry, I'm in a bad mood tonight.

Sometimes you have to reach down, grab ahold and pay the extra cash. It sucks I know, but dang those are terrible speeds.

200 meg over here, but I won't post my speedtest results until your providers in the USA get serious about their fiber offerings.

    I pay for 100MB Fiber and I get 500!!!
I don't pay any extra, that's with the base plan.
