Bad sub?

I have a PSW 505 that seems to have stopped working. When I turn the volume on the subwoofer all the way up, I can barely hear anything from it. Though there is some noise, I can only tell if I put my ear near the sub. It used to work great and now this? Do you think this could be a bad sub or could one of my settings be off from my receiver? I have a Yamaha 667 receiver and I used the YPAO with it. Could that have set it low? I haven't had it on in a few weeks and I don't know when it stopped working.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/solutions.

try pushing the sub speaker cone in evenly and GENTELY if there is a grinding or if its froze its dead , but read posts about the psw subs it may be a common problem ..
