Well,, wifey and me are going to see these guys at an outdoor venue in Atlanta,,an amphitheater named Chastain Park,,it's been there since I was young,,and actually a pretty cool place nestled among the trees and park/golf course,,situated in one of the more upscale areas(no,I don't live there). As you may surmise, this place is one of the last surviving venues that connects me with the "days" of bellbottoms, tiedyes, and southern belles. My wife and I enjoy taking our cooler with food and drink, sittin' back and just relaxin',,it's what old folks do.:rolleyes:I thought it would be nice to pick up something,,probabally a tee shirt and karma it.So,,if your are still with me after reading my rather longwinded intro, and I still have your attention,,just post something with the word "blues" in it.

FYI-- BB is 85 (you gotta offer some respect there eh?)
Buddy is 74 and the last time I saw him,he could still play his a$$ off.
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

George, I am extremely envious. I had a chance to see Buddy in his club in Chicago in February and the 1 hour drive, standing outside for several hours in the bitter cold only to grab a seat and sit another 3 or 4 hours until showtime just turned me off too much.

His club is small, only tables and you have to get there early to get an actual chair, it's all general admission. Had the weather been better I wouldn't have minded waiting outside. It just seemed silly to arrive at 11:00AM and wait outside and inside for a show that started at 8PM.

Have a great time...........Buddy has turned out to be one of my top 5 favorite guitarists. People don't realize how many guitar players he has influenced. He can plain TEAR it up even in his 70's.

Oh yeah, that other guy can play too :smile:

Rock and Roll, Blues royalty you get to see tonight

"Blues" is where the roots of music began

I have became a huge blues fan in the last few years. I went and saw bb and buddy when they were here in Oklahoma city. Great show, even Al green was there. Buddy had a wireless guitar and got off stage and was walking around in the crowd just tearing it up.

Buddy always puts on one hell of a show. BB is starting to slow down a bit but's an absolute blues legend and should be on everyone's musical bucket list.
Sounds like a great night. Have fun, George!

I saw BB King there at the racetrack (out from Atlanta), playing his "Blues", back in 1970, at the Atlanta Pop Festival. He had Lucille wailing! It was great! Saw Jimi Hendrix there too, at the same concert. Four months later, he was dead.

I was unable to make that performance,,due to a prior engagement that required me to visit SE Asia for about a year, lol.,, but my brother was there.

Yep--Buddy did not disappoint,,BB,,well,,lets just say that at 85,,,he's gotta be tired,, he played a few "licks" during each song in their set,but he stopped way too short,,but hey,,he's 85,, he's earned his place.Venue was about 2/3 of capacity,,, now the folks who sat on either side of us,,well that's another story,,I'm still scratching my head,,one was a loud boisterious female, who apparently has been around the block a few times,or too many,, the other,,still not sure of the gender.
