    Chuck Connors played first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers. I HAD a '49 yearbook with him in it.

    "That's pretty stiff talk for a one-eyed fatman Cogburn" is one of the best lines I ever heard from a John Wayne movie.

    RIP Sheriff! He was a regular on my family's TV. Gunsmoke was a great series.

    Don't forget Peter Graves (Mission Impossible) was James Arness' brother. The do look very much alike. Peter passed away last year at 83 years young.

    Rory Calhoun was still kickin' and appearing in cinematic gems like "Motel Hell" up until his death in 99. I particularly enjoyed his portrayal of Looney Tunes in the classic "Hell Comes To Frogtown" , his work in Westerns wasn't bad either.:wink:

    Right after he snatches his son off of his horse & tosses him into a mud puddle with his mother looking on and laughing!:biggrin::biggrin:

    Maureen O'Hara was a beautiful woman & they made a great couple on screen. They just clicked together. Big Jake & Mclintock are my favorite John Wayne movies.
