Picked up a pair of SDA 2 yesterday. Hooked them up today to my Sony TA-3200F amp, TA-2000F preamp, popped a CD into my Sony DVP-S7000 and gave them a listen. All I can say is wow. What amazing sound quality. The only problem is an occasional bit of buzz/distortion in the one of the tweeters of the left speaker, but I'll rectify this by replacing/upgrading all (4) tweeters.

They replace a pair of Platinum Audio PT-808 I've been using for most of the last decade. Nice speakers, but just don't have sound quality of the SDA 2. My wife even mentioned the SDA 2 had more presence than the 808, and were less fatiguing on the ear at volumes louder than she usually likes. Very musical. I may have found my lifetime speakers.

I would recommend disconnecting the dimensional (outside) tweeter altogether. With later revisions of this speaker, it was not present, as it was found to confuse the soundstage a bit.

I unhooked mine and have been very happy. One SL2000 per side is more than enough ;)

    Oh, and welcome :)
