Right off the bat, I will admit i have dissapointed a fellow polkie, but for honest reasons.

My first transaction receiving a money order from a stranger, albeit a trusted member of our forum, I got cold feet about shipping the marantz monoblocks he had purchased from me after being advised by our friend at the bank.

Her advice, since this was a large amount of money for us, and since mailing the gear would be relinquishing any control we have, hold off till fri. to make sure the bank would not pull the funds if something was wrong with m.o.

I dont want anyone to think i distrust beef jerky, and although dissapointed, his pm back to me said if mailed fri. it would be ok.

I want to thank him for his understanding, reassure him publicly in this forum, and apologize for lack of experience on my part leading to the delays.

For a second there I got hungry when I read the thread title. Now I feel a void in my stomach.

Glad the sale went through just fine.

It happened to me also, but on Agon.
It was alittle different story, but my bank warned me when I deposited the bank money order from the buyer (when I specifically asked for a US Postal money order, only).
At least my bank warned me and explained "free will" the situation.
The buyer in this instance was more than alittle pi$$ed, but he hung in there until all was well and we ended up leaving positive for each other.
    Better safe than sorry.

Glad it all worked out for both of you!

Wow, A public apology for being careful. Nice.

I would have no problem doing business with you as long as you were as forthcoming as it seems you were here.

You did what you had to!! Protect your self first then ship the item/s I don't see the problem as long as you let the buyer know what's going on..
