    Yeah, my sister and her family live in Grand Rapids. I'd say that it is very far from a dying city. My brother lives in Flint and that is a different story. That town has been in the dumps since the late 80's.

    Buddy of mine went back home to Michigan a few weeks ago after being gone for 17yrs...parents have moved to Arizona and he went on business...he was flabbergasted and heart sickened

    Moved to Grand Rapids 1985. Believe me this is not a dying city. I'm proud to live here and the city is growing, lots of employment. Downtown always has things going on. We have a Jr hocking team that farms players to RedWings, Jr baseball farms to Tigers. Newsweek was totaly wrong to put GR on the list of dying cities.
