Me? The ****?
You're the ****, hillbilly.
It's all good. You've proven my point and now I have added the first person to my ignore list. -
I just took a trip to Arkansas early last month to visit my son in Searcy. The people were nice, traffic was light and we had a great time catching big trout from the Little Red. Ran into some really nice folks. I guess you could have called some of them hillbillies (if your into childish stereotypes) but never once did I run into someone that seemed dim witted enough to sit in 6 hours of traffic. Maybe if I looked a bit harder....
That reminds me of a couple of fellas I know in Oregon. Dug their own gold shaft and made their own shine. Lived in a house their great granddad built. Now them was hillbillies! Half their teeth drunk all day and worth about 6.4 million dollars!. Made the front page of the Medford paper when they beat the state land appropriations commissions attempt to annex their gold mine.
Ahh anyway off topic ...I love the traffic in the inland northwest. You east coast folk can keep the crowds and the littered shores. Just my .02Too much **** to list.... -
Monitoring the clearly advanced motoring techniques of Pennsylvanians as they've crossed into frontier South/Central Jersey on their Jersey "Shore" sojourns can be interesting.
It's a good thing they took that "You have a friend in Pennsylvania" BS off the license plates. That was asking for it. -
I'm looking forward to our week at "The Shore"...but, it will be off season so hope we miss the traffic and idots! We promise not to be loud/obnoxious but can't say we won't be drinkin'.
Funny thing, just a few miles from here is the town of Jersey Shore!Yep, my name really is Bob.

Of course, we have family down there, so it's easy to plan an arrival that doesn't necessarily align with a given check-in time.
My in-laws rent a place right on the beach. I might never start the car again all week. Lots of people there, but not hectic at all for us. Of course, OC doesn't make much money off of us either. I hate all the tourist traps.
One year the Bay Bridge was closed due to a chemical spill. What should have been a three hour drive turned into eight... Yeah, that one did suck.
I've always lucked out over the years when "goin downee O'Shun, Hon" by mainly leaving plenty early in the morning and on off peak times. For Mid to Southern Marylanders, our achilles heal is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Anything happens to a vehicle on it, from accident to disabled car and you're looking at a nightmare backup. Coming home from there on peak times, backups can be pretty nuts. I saw on the news this past Monday, there was a 10 mile backup leading up to the Bay Bridge. No mention of any accidents to cause it. Northeast Marylanders can slingshot over the top and head down any number of routes through Delaware.
I personally like going there in Mid-September for Bike Week. All the kiddies are gone back to school and it's just an endless sea of motorcycles everywhere. The ocean water is still plenty warm as well. Get a place up on the northern end like 80th street and above, you'll find the beach fairly empty. No excuses! -
^^^ Dude! All this talk of OC makes me want to go NOW!

Yeah, right? It's just making me mad. We usually head down to the Oceanic on the inlet for a week. Sadly I can't do it this year, but they're heading down next month...
