Ready to pull the trigger....
Okay...I've been debating over new front and center speakers and was open to spending a little over $1,500. But after much debate....i'm having a hard time justifying the cost with a 11 month old baby running around the house. As we speaking, I'm rushing through this post because he's nawing on one of my flip flops!!
I have the itch to upgrade my system...I realize that I'll really benefit from a new receiver down the road...more power and options for external amps. But for the short term, I'm thinking of jumping on the deal newegg has right now on the Monitor II series. Monitor 70's and CS2 center. Seems hard to beat at around $460 bucks.
Would I see a noticeable benefit If I went with the 70's now? I really am looking for a more full sound and better sound while watching movies. I'm also assuming I would see a benefit to the 70's with a better receiver down the road??
Current Setup
Onkyo TXSR 607
Polk Monitor 50's
Polk CS1 Center
Polk RM95 Rears
PSW 125 12" sub

Yes and yes.
I think. Will see a pretty good improvement in going to the 70's. And the will take more power as well. It really depends on where you want to upgrade first. I would do it. Or step up tp say some rtia towers and mix match the center til you can get a new one. Would u plan on upgrading again in the future if you got the 70's?Front - RTiA5's
Rear - RTiA3's
Center - CSiA4
Sub - PSW110 -
Go for it! And put the extra $$ into the kid's college fund.

Thanks guys!!! If I upgrade again, it will probably be the receiver...an maybe round out te rears with some monitor series. Then farther down the road, I can always put the monitor setup in a different room. I really like the college fund suggestion....or maybe even the boat fund! :-). It's amazing how much your outlook on things change once you have children!!!

Hey there.
I dont have much clout on the technical side of how everything works but getting there one inch at a time.
i have the monitor line up you are considering, 70's 40's and cs2. i will say that i thoroughly enjoy them. i think you will too.
I am running a sony 5600es. saving for my amps and then up grading the speakers a few years down the road.
you will have fun, with these speakers. doing some small mods and things like that.
so my long winded point is, go for it, you will enjoy them.
