I just recieved my Satanic Majesties Request SACD a couple days ago, but have not had a chance to listen to it yet. I'll probably wait to set up the 2.3TL's and then give a listen.

Let us know what you think of Sticky Fingers Jesse.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I only like one or two Steely Dan songs. Whatever it is, I don't call it rock. Too exquisitely crafted for that.

Sticky Fingers was a transition album for me. I felt it really heralded the end of the original Rolling Stones, and that the Glitter Twins were in for all they could get. So long Stones.

Love Sticky Fingers, I also thought Let it Bleed, was phenominal those two stone albums are the best, the Mick Taylor era was the best for the Stones, it was a shame that Keith thought he was a better guitarist than Mick Taylor cause he was not, Taylor was the deal, get the blu-ray Laddies & Gentelemen the Rolling Stones and see the Stones as the band they should of stayed as Ronnie Wood was no replacement For Taylor.

That is good news, just got a player that will play SACD, Sticky Fingers is one of my favorite albums. Assumed that there would be more Blue Ray audio out there, or am I looking in the wrong place?

There are a few, a very few, Blu-ray audio selections. Basically, it's going nowhere.

My copy of Sticky Fingers arrived this morning (one day shipping from Japan, gotta love it), but I just got a chance to give it a listen. The depth into the music is incredible. Huge sound stage. The guitar work is glorious. Moonlight Mile gave me shivers up the spine!

I've got three other different copies on CD and had the LP, but was never happy with any of them. Finally, a winner.

I got my copy and just played it and - well - I may just have to incur the wrath of F1Nut on this one....was not impressed.

Horrible opening saturation/distortion on Brown Sugar and that led to a sigh of dissatisfaction with the overall sound quality compared to other SACDs I have.

It sounded a bit indistinct/sloppy in the bass, and rolled off in the highs, maybe a tad hot in the mid-range.

Maybe its characteristic 70's recording/mixing/mastering as the SHM-SACD is supposed to be a 'flat' transfer.

Not a disc I would pull out to wow a friend for what SACD can sound like.

I do love the songs though - remembered wearing out my cassette tape of this in the mid-70s.

"The Royal Scam" will not be released for some reason. "Sticky Fingers" has arrived but I've had zero time to listen to music the past couple of weeks. I'll post my thoughts when I get time to really listen to it, if anyone gives a crap!!

Erik, while it may not be the most pristine recording ever made (it's not), the SACD is the best version to date.

I finally got to listen to my copy. I'm really liking this recording. Much improved over any version I've ever heard. F1nut hit the nail on the head about "Moonlight Mile".
