Well, here's a sneak peek at the copy-cat versions. I HIGHLY doubt these will be as good as the Swedish films but we shall see.

A lot of people will go see it just know if it's anything like the Swede version. It will make a ton of money. Parts 2 & 3, well . . . . . . . . .?????????

David Fincher. That's all you need to know. I have no doubt it will be good if not awesome with him at the helm.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

+1 to that. Fincher's apparently going darker than the original, which is no small feat!

Looks like a shot-for-shot remake of the original a la Psycho. I just watched the original Swedish version along with the sequel this weekend. It would be interesting to see how far Fincher will go in the remakes.

Word I read is that it will be darker and grittier ala Seven and Fight Club...so I guess we can expect a yellow/green/brown color tint plus a NIN soundtrack which will amp up the tension. I personally liked the pace and look of the first film (not so much the next 2) and absolutely hate tinted films. That said, I want Finscher to make a seriously different effort, not diverging from the original material, just a better film.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

In case anyone interested hasn't already found it... the official trailer is at: http://bit.ly/ivLoY6

Not sure if the movie will be any good, but I'll be seeing it just to audition Reznor's next academy award winning score. Love, love, love that Zep cover.

Are you saying you already have a bootleg copy of the film?!? And I thought China was the one that was all about video piracy.

I grab stuff online but I am willing to purchase blurays of things I like. I live in Canada where copywrite infringement laws are not really clarified or enforced.
