The Matrix and Aliens - Blu-Ray

Watched The Matrix on Blu-Ray last night and must say that the Blu-Ray Dolby Digital audio transfer was less than appealing. Dialogue was often difficult to understand and the mix was questionable at best. I really had to crank up the volume to listen to the dialogue and the gun-fire seemed exceptionally flat. Underwhelming. Dolby Digital.
I followed it up with Aliens on Blu-Ray - completely opposite. The DTS sound track was dynamic, impactful, and mixed just right. Had to turn down the volume to regular levels on this one.

Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Never liked any of the mixes for The Matrix movies, whether it was dvd or blu ray. I remember the theatrical presentations for Reloaded and Revolutions and they were perfect. On disc format, dialog was often muddled, compressed and at times, distorted. Most of the action scenes were okay but nowhere near as dynamic as discs like Master and Commander and Saving Private Ryan. That's why I was so stumped when I read the dvd/blu ray reviews. Reviewers thought the mixes were phenomenal .Display: Sony 42" LCD

How was the PQ on Aliens?
Thanks, Chris -
Never bought into the Matrix Blu's. Good films but no rewatch factor. Actually bought the Alien set, watched them all once and then sold it. Most are just too cheesy to enjoy, there too old and outdated with poor special effects, soundtracks and so on.If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.
