I do realize in most case's 2 subwoofers are better then 1, i just have no knowledge in comparing the micropro to the legend. If anyone has listened to both these sub'` please share with me your input.

By spec, the Legend goes a good bit deeper. For HT use, I think you would really appreciate that. I really liked the micropros paired with bookshelves for a music system, and it's probably a decent HT sub, too. But, I think the extra boom you get in a larger sub is worth it for movies.

Thanks for the the info. I`v got the rtiA3 for my surrounds. My goal is replace the M70 with something from the Rt series. I like bass so my next purchase is to figure out about my sub then replace my fronts. Thanks again.

I ran my RTiA3s as fronts with my Epik Valor (sealed) - could shake the CDs out of my CD rack!

Having been a single sub person for most of my audio journey, I can say that stereo subs trump a single sub in more than just one aspect of the experience. Especially with HT.

For the first time last night I tried out my LSi's in my HT setup with two microPro 2000's - Rammstein live in Berlin DVD

I can't speak for the Epik's, but I REALLY like two microPro 2000's! Polk Direct has them for $500 each.

The Micropro 2000 cost more or is close to the Epik. It seems from all the post i see and todays post that the Epik is a better sub. Is it that the 2000 is overpriced or the Epik is a good deal? Or am i misunderstabing the post i read that Epik is better?

Epiks are great subs. I can't speak for the Legend although I had considered a dual purchase. I ended up with a single Empire, man o man, I'm glad I made this choice.

The customer service has been great with Epik as well, they really take care of their customers.

If you like your 2000, then why not get a matching 2nd sub? From what I understand, the only diff between the 1000 and 2000's is the remote and (I think) the setup mic.
I like the look of the microPro's better than the Epik's. If I ever decide to upgrade, I think I'd look at SVS...but I'm very happy for now.

BTW, where in MI are you located?

West side of the state. Grand Rapids. I like the 2000, got a good deal on CL for $250. The One spec that sold me was, has 1200 watts of continuous power and 2400 peak..Thats much more power then the Epik and most subs in this price range. I`ve never heard the Epik's , but everything i have read is all positive and everyone highly recommends the Epiks. Also the Polk's are 8" and the Epiks are 12".. wondering if that would be a big difference.

You're in the better part of the state - much better than SE Michigan.

I imagine the 12" will dig deeper.

The Polk micropros are quality subs - they sound and look great. The Epik, on the other hand, well, it's just not as pretty - you could say that they probably stressed function over form. So, if your Blu-Ray soundtrack contains material down to 20 Hz, you probably won't hear/perceive it with the mp 1000/2000. You should definitely feel it with the Legend. The Legends have TWO 12" drivers. I'd like to get my hands on one, and now that I've been researching them... I need to stop!:smile:

BTW, I think the wattage difference is not as significant to either sub's performance as it may seem.

Geoff4rfc, Thanks for the feedback. The spec i took from the polk product page. When compare to other subs the polk dsw seems way high on the watts/power. The power is the reason i bought the dsw 2000. I`,m wondering if its time to sell or give my 2000 to my son and pull the trigger on Epik?? The dsw sounds good, but i have not listening to the legend. That why i'm reaching out on the forum for information . I`m also thinking of upgrading my M70 to rt series .Thats another topic. I will taKE YOUR Advice and look at avs forum.

If you're thinking of upgrading your 70's, here's a little tip, a pair of refurb RTi12's on polks ebay site are going for 749. I want them right now, just can't afford this upgrade at this time. It's killing me because my want factor for these speakers are off the chart.

I saw the same speakers . They are the same as rtia9 but have an update box, all else the same. The only negitive is $100 shipping. If i bought those ,i`d keep the sub, and i already have the rtia3 for my surrounds. The 12's are not that much more then a new sub.
