Soldering, aint it fun?

Folks,
In redoing my new crossovers I soldered a .5 Ohm resisitor in place and then went to work on placing my inductors. The board has the corresponding holes very close. (Picture below)
Now, when I soldered the inductor, the solder wants to flow into the area and contact the bordering hole which has the resistor in place.
Since I will never claim to be a smart guy I want peoples opinion on this one.
I have de-soldered it several times while trying to keep the damn solder from touching one another and I think I may have succeeded on the last try but am not sure.
I think I know the answer but what if anything is this going to do if they are indeed making a circuit/contact? Does there need to be a clearance? If so, does anyone have any ideas?
The boards so far have been easy as pie except for this particular spot.
Thanks in advance,
Nathan

I can't tell from the pic but are the 2 holes connected by a copper trace? If so, no worries if the solder touches.

Did you check the diagram to see if they are bridged anyway? The vias look too close to be non-conductive.

If not, best bet is to get some liquid solder flux, wet down both posts, and hit them both with some heat. They should naturally wick solder onto the wire pot and into the via and separate where there is no contact pad. Then, isoalco off the flux and take a look at it under a magnifying glass. The pic you took is difficult to see with the core flux you have caked on there (might just clean it off and take a look under a glass, you might be fine).

Here is an untouched board. Front and rear. The two holes, shown on the front as White 'F' and the hole next to it. Rear just two silver holes next to 'F'. These correlate to the .4mh inductor and the .5 Ohm resistor in place of the polyswitch.
I will check the schematic for the 1C, while these post.

They sell a putty that's called heat sink etc. , maybe you could form a dam with it to prevent solder flow where it isn't wanted. The stuff below is made for auto restorers but it should work for your "app".

WTF? In looking at the boards this is NOT the .5 but the 2.7 Ohm resistor. How I confused them is besides me.
Anyone got time to look at the schematic and give me a thumbs up or down?
Coming from a non electrical kind of guy.
Before any soldering the silver rings are microns apart to start.
    Thanks again for help/suggestions.

I was going to say that this looks like where the 2.7 is in series with the 0.4 inductor. Gimpod could tell you for sure but it should be good to go and already have a trace there.

Compare it to this thread, the traces are completely visible in the finished custom board: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101659

Or take a pic a little farther away, so I can get the layout of the board vs the schematic.

Cincy, I had shot G-pod a note but hadn't heard back. I know that we all dont live on the computer but am jonesing to put them back in.
Since it is the 2.7 and it should be in series with the .4 inductor then my 'professional quality' solder job is safe?
Here is a photo(s) of the completed board and partial board showing the attached components.
I will shoot one of a bare board.
    Thanks again.

I saw in his FS thread that he may be out for a week or so. Yes, I looked at the thread phocion linked and it shows a pad to make those holes common. If you look on the second photo you just posted you will see the same thing. IF these spots connect from the solder it will not be an issue.

Thanks everyone. I was happy as I didn't have to fix anything except try and solder/resolder that one set about 10 times and wanted to stop before I ran out of solder, burnt a hole through the board, died from lead poisoning, or a combination of all three!
Of course, now that I look at them I see I revereed the 12uf cap so it doesnt look pretty and balanced. No, I am not going to unsolder it. I will just think about it when I am listening to music, wondering....
Well one board down and one to go.
    Thanks again.
