I stopped by my local Rat Shack to pick up a patch cable with which to record a mini cassette and noticed they had their Analog Sound meter on sale for $14.99.
If anyone wants one, your local Shack may have the same deal. The clerk said they were trying to clean out the warehouse. No affil.

Let me know if they don't have it and I'll pick another one up for you tomorrow.

Thanks, that's a nice offer. I'll know by tomorrow. Will stop by a couple Shacks after taking my wife to the bus station for her trip.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Checking their web site, they don't list the analog meter anymore.

    Great deal!

I bought analog Model: 33-4050 in 2007, smaller and nicer to use than the digital, and much better to balance your system than the mic's many HT receivers come with.

It is one of those pieces of gear that receives little use once your system is set up though.

Thanks. Must have for HT. The auto setup mic sucks.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Thanks again, I finally found one of these. To others in search of one, you should be careful to get someone who is a knowledgeable 'stock' person and explain that the Analog Sound Level Meters were put on 'clearance' sale recently and to look for them? Because, as has been noted above, they no longer appear on the RS website.

The first place I hit was fairly useless, but the second Shack had a guy there who was able to find one in the 'back'.

    Now to use the goodies!

Excellent! ... Thanks for the information.

I'll have to make a run to Fort Worth and visit their outlet store. They should have one, even if no other radio shack does. This isn't the traditional outlet store that you find at the mall. This store has a normal radio shack up front and the outlet store is in back. Right next door is their shipping center.

Make sure to call your local Radio Shack and have an employee check the inventory on their computer for the analog version. They can see which stores have them according to the computer inventory. Then you want to call the store that supposedly has it in stock to verify that it really is available.

Too often I've found that the inventory count for stores is inaccurate. This also eliminates having to drive all over.

I have a Sound Meter app for my Droid X and it works great, as good as the inexpensive Rat Shack meters. I've compared my phone vs. the Rat Shack and they read the same. Just an FYI for those that have phones that can utilize the app.

Sound Meter -Lite. The Lite version has advertisements but it's free. The regular version has no ads, but you pay. I don't use it often but it's cool when I need to.

I have a digital one but always preferred the analog version. Anyone got a Radio Shack P/N for this one on clearance?

The number on the box is 33-4050. They have removed it from the catalog.

Found two at one of my local RS to replace my old one. Use the old one all the time to check sound level, my ears are getting old! Thanks for the info!
