Have to say...

Pandora streaming over the whole-house audio system is AWESOME!

Now I have one question for the experts - which would provide the best sound quality?

MiniDisplayPort --> HDMI --> Sony KD-34XBR960 (using TV as a DAC)

Then the Sony KD-34XBR960 analog out L/R to the whole-house audio stack?

Or should I use the analog audio connection (using the sound card DAC) to feed the whole house audio system?

    I would use the audio connections on the Mac, Maybe? Are they separate RCA's Or what?

    If not then use the Sony. I would look into a separate DAC for the future..

    Right now I am using the TV as the DAC and it sounds great!

    How are you getting audio out of a video only port?
    If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

    I can't help with connection advice, but your set-up sounds like an awesome new toy!

    Can you pause the stream of the music as you walk from room to room like the Netfix commercial does with movies?

    If he is using air play then could walk from room to room and control all of his music or videos from an any i fill in the blank device.
    If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.
