Common ground amps

Was not sure where to post this, so if mods feel it should be elsewhere feel free to move:
I wonder if I just made a mistake on an amp? I just purchased from a fellow Polkie the Rotel RB976 amp...reviews seemed decent and price was right for me at this time. I plan to initially use the avr zone 2 preout to power a pair of SDA 2B. Was looking to bridge the amp and just use 2 of the available 3 channels when bridged. Now I read that on some amps that are common ground...when you bridge them you lose the "common ground"??
Can I bridge this amp and not damage the 2B's with the interconnect cable attached? Is there a way to check the amp in bridged mode to determine it is indeed common ground?

Hello,
When an amplifier is used in a bridged mode it no longer can be used with a common ground speaker. You would potentially damage the amplifier if you used the SDA interconnect cable.
Sorry, Ken -
OK, so for the time being I could use the SDA w/o the cable connected and not risk damage...just won't have the SDA effect?Yep, my name really is Bob.

Yes, but you'll lose more than just the SDA. Besides, bridging is hardly all that.Political Correctness'.........defined

So, overall quality will diminish....to the point that they will be un-enjoyable? Was looking to bridge for more power to drive the SDA's....6 channel mode is 60wpc, bridged is 150....I'm guessing that when you bridge you are supplying more current too? Maybe I've got this all wrong?Yep, my name really is Bob.

Think the opposite of what your thoughts are. More watts, yes. Flabbier, less prominent bass is the end result and completely not worth it with the loss of SDA.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~
