    I personally prefer Onkyo receivers.

If you don't need the latest and greatest, check out accessories4less.com. They carry Onkyo (and other) refurbs - you could save a few hundred $$$.

What features are you looking for Tbagg? I personally am partial to Denons, but things like pre-outs tend to only show up on the 331x series and up.

My dad has a 707 and my cousin has a 708 and both have a lot features for that price point. I know the 708 supports FLAC up to 24/96 over the network, so I'd assume the newer 709 does as well. Plus it's got pre-outs for external amps.

I'd probably go w/ the Onkyo for those reasons.

    ..the rest are headphone setups.

O wow 700 you can get a pretty decent receiver.

Id go for one with pre outs. Itll be totally worth it.
