Hi,
I own a pair of SDA2's which I plan on using as front channel mains as part of a 7.1
Setup..what speakers will give me the closest tonal balance to these wonderful speakers?
I need a center ch. as well. What do you think?

So, do you think 5 sda-crs+'s would work?
I wish...the wife would murder me.. -
I think you could get away with 1 crs for a center and use whatever bookshelf speakers you like for rears. Timber matching is important for the front soundstage and less important for rears."They're always talking about my drinking, but never mention my thirst" Oscar Wilde

IIRC Polk says that, for SDAs in a HT, you would be best off with a pair of SDA's as front L/R, a pair of SDA's as rear L/R, and then two matching speakers for center front & center rear. So if you're looking at your SDA2's, you want a matching pair of SDA2's for rears and two other matching speakers (like Monitor 5's with the same tweeter) for center front and center rear. That'd give you a 6-channel setup.polkaudio Monitor 5 Series II
polkaudio SDA-1 (with the SL1000)
TEAC AG-H300 MK III stereo receiver
beyerdynamic DT-880 Premium (600 Ω) headphones
SENNHEISER HD-555 headphones
Little Dot MK IV tube headphone amp

I heard that someone built a center channel with 2 of the mid bass units from an sda, with a sl2500 tweeter in the middle..can someone point me to that link?

If you are smart you will listen to Bobsama on this. What he speaks is the recommended setup for SDA's in HT.
If you are worried about aesthetics than you are gonna want to use one of Polks centers. I believe the CS350 is a match but I am not sure.
