Has anyone with one of these players used an external hard drive utilizing the esata port? Does the player just see the drive and read the appropiate files depending on the menu your in IE: movie or music menu of the player?
Ideally, I would like the drive to be connected to the player and wirelessly connected to my network, but not sure if this is possible.

I used a Vantec hard drive dock with my Oppo for a while before I picked up a Dune player. The Oppo works like you describe. You just select a movie or music and hit enter (as long as it is in a recognizable format).
I've had mine connected via ethernet to the computer and the HD using USB, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same except for wireless instead of ethernet.
