Friend of mine gave me this for a present. Just curious if any of you guys own a R/C Helicopter or have flown one. My first flight I got it to hover about 2 ft off the ground set it back down now it wont get of the ground even at full throttle. Battery charger is showing battery is fully charged.

Did you put new batts in the controller? I buddy of mine and I bought a par of these together, they are GREAT fun, in fact I just found mine in a box of old work junk, I've been meaning to test it and give it to the nephew. Good luck!

I have one I need to do some repair to after my daughter flew it into the ceiling. The indoor R/C helicoptors are a blast. I finally got good enough to avoid the speakers and other audio/HT gear and chase and buzz the cat. The cat is still pretty quick with a paw if you get it too close!

I have R/C heli and a Navy Blue Angel R/C jet. I enjoy flying both when they aren't broken. As for your copter it may require a longer charge than expected. Batteries in the radio could be another reason. Other than that, on/off switch to on and you should take off no problems.

Man thats a fixed heli and not the pitch and not the type you wana be messing with if your not at an advanced stage in your game . You should try a coax 4 channel to start with and good thing you never got it off the ground as you will probably smash it

I think its the battery too and try a longer charge or did you get a bunch of hairs and stuff trapped in the rotors as that can slow it down and burn out the motor if they are not brushless or it could fry a gyro too

Have a look in the instuction manual for that particular controller and it may need more throttle to get that bird in the air . That thing looks like a 6 channel with the switches on the top of the contoller and if it is one of those may affect the speed of the throttle too

Thanks for the replies guys, the transmitter has new batteries it uses 4 AA's and is showing 6.2 volts on the display. I left the battery on the heli charge for 24hrs according to the book the battery is fully charged when the green light is off on the charger. I can hover for about 2 minutes then it seems like it loses power and lands even when I have the stick at full throttle. It was brand new when he gave it to me so I know there is no dust on it. I agree its way advanced for me never have flown an R/C heli before. I think I will buy 1 of the smaller trainer ones and learn on that. This one is a 6-channel but it does have switches for begginers so it doesnt pitch as much. I followed the instructions in the book to a T read it many times and did lots of research on the net before my first try at flying it. It does use a brushless motor. The battery it came whith is a 3-cell 11.1 v Li-Po im thinking the battery is bad. According to the book I should get 12-15 minutes flight time on a full charge. Here is a link to the one I have.

Greg nothings going to train you for flying a 6 channel 3d fixed pitch and the only other way to practice is to buy a 4 channel fixed pitch that flys like a coax ( the heli's with the double rotors ) . I think you should either buy another eflite as they have awesome retail value . You might be able to buy a blade msr without the controller ( BNF ) bind and fly with your existing controller . The eflite blade msr has had the best reviews for a micro heli out there and you can crash it and it wont break like the large ones do http://www.bladehelis.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=EFLH3000

I have a eflite blade mcx and I crash it into walls and let my cats run after it and its a great way to learn, you can actually fly the blade mcx in the bathroom and it is the most stable heli in the world
    http://www.bladehelis.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=EFLH2200

The cool thing about the eflite heli's is that all the local hobby shops carry their parts so if you break a fly bar you dont have to get parts posted out

This is one of the most stable larger 4 ch out there and if you google it youl see alot of people flying it and even one guy in his living room lol . http://www.xheli.com/wahymecbai2o.html

Get an R/C car. I blew $200 on R/C copters 3 years ago, way too fragile.

You gota get the right one to start off with Russ like the little blade mcx as you can crash them and they just get back up and fly over and over no **** they are awesome and real easy to fly plus parts are super cheap . The only thing you need to replace is the flybar for $4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRQxLjq5fEs&feature=related

Allready own 2 a Sportwerks Turmoil and a Traxxas nitro rustler. The turmoil was $800 and very fast and fun to drive, very sturdy car havent broke many parts on it in 2 yrs.

Turmoil this was when it was stock I have put many aftermarket parts on it since this pic.

That's a hell of a first heli to try to learn on! I have a couple 2 and 3 channel IR helicopters, as well as a 9 Eagles Solo Pro Coax 4 channel and a Solo Pro fixed pitch. The 4 channel coax is the route I would recommend to learn a bit more about flying before jumping right into the Blade SR. You can usually pick up a 4ch coax for around $50-60.

    Here is one example:

    http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=proto+cx&_sacat=0&_odkw=proto+csx&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313#http://cgi.ebay.com/Revell-Proto-CX-Micro-EP-RTF-4-CH-Helicopter-NEW-NIB-/180671483881?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item2a10dc0fe9&vil=1

It is a Revell Proto CX, but its just a re-badged 9 Eagles Solo Pro Coax.

Here's an Eflight coax if you want to stick to that brand:

I would also recommend checking out the forums at RCGroups.com. Post a thread about the issue with your SR and I bet you will have an answer in a few hours or less.

I'm pretty sure the Blade SR is a collective pitch heli, which makes it ever harder to learn.

That's also a $200 helicopter which is a really nice gift!

Check out what the blade SR can do in the hands of a very skilled pilot:
