As the title says I am looking for an Alpine CDA-9887 to buy. I've got my Alpine PDX-4.100 and 1.1000 along with Polk db1222 and Boston SX50's. All I need is a deck and I get me some wire and wire it all up. I really wanted the 9887 cuz I was planning on running Imprint and didnt wanna get any other Alpine because I didn't wanna have to get the module as well as the tuning kit. Whereas if I get the 9887 I just have to get the tuning kit and I'm good. If it's nowhere to be found...could somebody guide me towards another one, bout same price just as good deck as far as tuning and SQ goes?

Thanx!

Or possibly a Pioneer that has as good of SQ and tuning features. That's what I'm lookin for is a deck that has out-of-this world SQ and tuning capabilities.

Would you be interested in an Alpine CDA-9813?

It has Bass Engine Pro, Media Xpander, parametric EQ, level adjustment on each channel, time alignment and a bunch of other stuff. I have been hanging on to this thing because it was such a sweet unit but it isn't likely that I'll ever use it.

I also have an Alpine CD changer and a few Alpine amps but it looks like you are set for amps.

That is a good hu. It will let you go active in a 3 way mode. You can also look at the p-800 / 880, if you can find them.

    Skrol,

I looked at that deck and WOW I like it a lot! Something that concerned me I noticed was Crutchfieldl said you have to have a 10-guage amp wiring kit because the V-Drive internal amp in the deck? What's that all about? But all in all if you gimme a right price I would love to have that.

Are you talking about the CDA-117? I know what you're talking about then. I've heard word that it's nowhere near the 9887. I have thought about it though and if it's on par with the 9887 I wouldn't mind shelling out the coin for it.

I never ran 10-guage to the HU but then I disabled the internal amps via the menu and ran external amps.

Before I packed it away, everything was good. I'll dig it out and bench test it to make sure it is all good still, verify all the hardware (ie remote, cage and harness, etc) and come up with a price.

Just thinking about this unit I wish I could install it in my present ride ('05 Volvo V50 T5) but they went with an integrated system which interconnects everything via a fiber optic MOST bus. Too much hacking to do the swap.

Well...I just got a price on a NIB CDA-117 for $249.99 free shipping, that I'm heavily debating. So can you do me better than that?

Off the top of my head under $150. I'll have to research it more. That looks like a good deal for the CDA-117. The iPod and Imprint Sound are also great points.

I believe I still have the adapter for RCA inputs for the CDA-9813 that you can use to hook up an iPod or other analog source.

    Lasareath,

I've went over in my mind SO MANY COUNTLESS TIMES about that Alpine iPod deck. I do not have an iPod yet I know get with the times :). I don't like iPhones so I opted for a HTC Desire, which I love tremendously. But unsure if my HTC would sync with the Alpine, so that's a concern to me. Also say for instance, I have a buddy riding with me and he wants to listen to a new CD he bought? OR I went out and bought a new CD and wanna listen to it? Now granted 9.9 times out of 10 I'll listen to my music via iPod or HTC. But there's always that .1 chance that I might wanna pull out a CD and throw it in.

But the main concern is the pre-out voltage is only 2v and you can't do any "real" tuning without the IMPRINT. Other than that, I think that I would be really satisfied with it. I know the search is driving me crazy lol

I'll dig mine out tonight. The weekend was crazy, getting up at 5am and not back home till 9pm and still having to do weekend catchup stuff at night.

You can actually do some pretty good tuning with these units; it just isn't automatic.

I have an Alpine CD changer that works with both Ai-Net and M-Bus (CHA-S614) if interested. I assume the IDA-x305s has a changer controller functions?

I know what you mean about time. I've been wanting to upgrade the speakers in my Volvo ever since I got it. Then there is what happen to my last car. You dump all this time and money in and then it gets whacked (totaled). Fortunately, I was able to swab the stereo back to the factory stuff while at the holding lot before the insurance guy got the car.

It seems to check out just fine. I sure wish I had a car to put this thing in. It does have some wear on the face. Some of the numbers on the presets are a worn. The harness are also cut shorter from when it was removed from my last car. I have not found the owners manual but it does have the cage and remote. I'll try to post pics later.
