Crazy, yes, but I figured I might as well see if any Polkies within say 500 miles of Boston are looking to sell their car! I'm specifically looking for a two seater, and have narrowed it down, so while it is a long shot, here is the list. I would check the car out and pay in cash of course!
Mileage: ~40k to ~125k
Cars:
Corvette C3 from 1974 to 1982
Corvette C4 from 1992 to 1996
Mercedes SLK from 2000 to 2004
BMW Z3 (Prefer later model)
BMW Z4 (Possibly; an older / higher mileage one)
Porsche Boxster
Any other interesting 2 seater suggestions would be appreciated as well, besides a S2000 or 350z, neither of which I much care for.

Hardtop, t-top or ragtop?
Your C4 choices will get you the most bang for the buck. Decent ragtops can be had in the $12-16k range, if you shop carefully. I would try a nationwide search on Autotrader.com, etc. and be ready to get on a plane and drive it home. I have done that many times and the svaings always made sense for me. Last one was a car in San Antonio. Bought it for 22% less than a comparable car in Atlanta. Flew in, was met at the airport in the car, drove it to a mechanic shop for check out, did the paperwork, paid the man and drove it home. Had the return for the round trip if the car didn't check out.My 7.4.4 DIY 4k Home Theater:

My guess is you will have more luck if you can find some really active enthusiast websites for those particular car manufacturers and check their FS marketplace.
Maybe google for something such as vintage corvette or corvette enthusiast website, etc? -

Of course! I just figured it would be fun to poke around.. Polk.
C4's are very nice but most the ones I see come up for sale are 1984 to 1988. In 88 they still had that silly 4 + 3 transmission, didn't get the 6 speed until 1989. But in '92 Corvette's finally get their power back with the LS1 being introduced. Of course a 96 Manual would be ideal since they are stock with the LS4 from the Grand Sport, but i'd probably be paying for it.
I don't necessarily want a convertible in particular, the hardtops generally look better to me but of course who doesn't love putting the top down. The SLK is a hardtop convertible, which is a bonus I suppose.Current System:

Ah that's what I meant, got the two mixed up! My brother has a 98' Camaro SS, I like them but unfortunately they are "kids cars", the majority of the ones for sale have been treated very poorly, customized, or had engine / transmission rebuilds thanks to abuseCurrent System:
