My friend was messing with the settings on my pioneer elite vsx01 thx and now I cant get any dialogue from the center channel . I try'd a factory reset from the directions in the manual but that does not solve the problem . It does not matter what listening mode I choose as it just stays the same and dialogue only comes from the 2 main channels

There are sounds coming through the center channel but not the dialogue . I can hear ambient sounds faintly . I have not turned off the center and there is no sound when going through all listening modes

Have you tried running the MCACC auto config again? Assuming this only happens when playing a DVD were any changes made on the DVD player side?

Lesson number 1: Never allow friends or family to do more than adjust the volume and only when you in the room!

I hope you get it figured out!!

That Pioneer must have a manual Test Tone. Send it around each of your speaker and see if it's going through the center.

Yep the test tone goes through the center

I even swapped my tower and center channel round and its not a speaker problem either

The only good thing about this problem is that my wife thinks we need to buy a new sound system lol .
