Hello everyone,

I have been reading this forum for a while now. And I?ve been kind of hesitance about registering reason being is I have a 7.1 system downstairs and 5.1 upstairs and they are both Polk Tsi series speakers. And every time the Tsi series is mention in this forum almost 100% of the time someone come back with the response that you should have got the monitors or Rti series or whatever. (Well I love my Tsi series speakers and you **** with your should offs sound like my poor Mother God rest her soul)

I shopped around before I purchase these and got my ears on some Polk?s, Soundstage, and Klipsch and others in a sick price range that is beyond my means. These are IMO great speakers at a good price point so go ahead with your nasty comments and you?re should offs but you folks with the Tsi series enjoy your speakers I do and I?m sure the good Folks at Polk don?t like to read how people knock the Tsi series.

Cheers Polk500

    Welcome to Club Polk!!

You've got us there, I'm afraid. But some of us, including myself, do own a pair of TSI (in my case 300s that I use for surround duty). And you're right. If you're looking for a 'nice' set of speakers that are a great value and can be driven by most AVRs and look great...well TSIs are an excellent solution to your needs!

    Enjoy!

I have both TSi and Monitor Series II speakers. I love them both, but I favor my TSi speakers a little more.

Welcome to CP! Polk offers varied lines for all budgets. Enjoy your two systems and take what you read with a thick skin. Just because somebody does not like a particular level does not make it a bad piece, it may be they have moved up the chain a bit.

You can't take audio to the point where you get to the level you have to vent and rant. It stops becoming a hobby at that point.

Chill, open an adult beverage and enjoy your gear. You deserve it.

As said, there is nothing wrong with the TSi Series. In fact, their biggest problem is the existence of the Monitor series at competitive prices - first, the end-of-life-sales of the normal Monitor series and then the Newegg-Exclusive Series II at prices that the TSi can't compete against.

The TSi are fantastic speakers. And they look much better than either Monitor series with their cherry finish at the front as apposed to the silver or black faceplate of the Monitors - I'd leave the grills off for sure.

I can't say that I've really seen too much of this "TSi bashing" that you're referring to. I've seen many people whole heartedly recommend the TSi series here. It's generally agreed upon that they're a great speaker line. Are they as good as the RTi's or LSi's? Well...no...but they're a lot less expensive too. The Monitors and the TSi's are essentially the same speaker line.

I think you came on a little strong there...

I'll admit when people are on a tight budget and asking about Tsi's that i'll recommend the Monitor series. However I wouldn't call it Tsi bashing, they're a great speaker but they're not that sonically different from the Monitors. Just enjoy em and welcome to the forum.

Well you little **** you should have bought BOSE with your little snide comment.. I have never seen anyone put down the TSI's, why not post a link???? Some may have said go with the RTi's if it's in your budget but nobody has put them down..

Welcome to CP and enjoy your TSi's, cause at the end of the day thats all that matters!!!

BTW my comment was a ribbing and not to be confrontational!!!

I concur w/ B Run, most of us dont hate them, its just that they are competing with a very similar, cheaper product with darn near the performance, the Monitor series.

I am glad you like the TSi's they are good and do of course look better than the Monitor series for sure.

So I chilled and had a adult drink listen to Jeff Beck's Rock'n Roll Party great on BR.

Read Toolforlifefan comment laughed said to myself self you're an ****.

So I hang my head in shame. I did come on strong with the ****’s comment that wasn’t very mature. So I apologize for that.

    Welcome to Club Polk, Polk500!

What you have discovered is that everyone in here is at a different level & we almost always try to talk people into going up a level, whether they can afford it or not!

Enjoy your system, and in time do what you need to in order to ensure that your Tsi's work to their full potential.

This requires separate amplification. My 21 year old Polk RTA-8T's have never sounded better.

The gear that runs them outstrips them in price you wouldn't believe, but as I said they have never sounded better.

    Stick around and have fun!

Absolutely, enjoy your TSi speakers! Now there's a great combination, Jeff Beck, Polk speakers and your beverage of choice. Makes me want to go do some listening.
    Enjoy, Ken

I didn't want to scare him too badly. So I will wait until he starts exploring amplification to mention that!:biggrin:

    Hi,

So I'm using a Harmon Karman 7550HD AVR 110 watts per channel I think. But it don't have the 1.4 repeater for 3D buy I'm not planning on buying a 3D TV.

I think it has a 65 amp built into it. As for 200 watts per channel that must be a pretty awesome piece of equipment, I can't even imagine how powerful that is as I don't turn mine up above -20 db and my kids swear they don't go above -10db.
