I was told by a seller on ebay that these are the best pre tubes to replace cheap 45 chinese 6n1's on the pre section
Does or have any members here used this type of tube . I was quoted $180 for a quad matched set

The Gold Lion 6922s are very good tubes as I am using one now, and the best new production tube to buy. They are quiet, solidly built, and a good value. They would be described as: Very tight and punchy bass, with plenty of weight, Very lively and exciting, A more forward midrange, A clean top end (not bright or edgy, but not what I would call "sweet"), Plenty of detail. However, they are not warm and seductive, and do not add musicality in a system that is lacking it, or neutral.
I'm currently rolling back and forth between the Gold Lion 6922 and an NOS Amperex 6922 Holland gold pin, and what it covers a little in the extreme details, it makes up for in the seductive musicality. They would be described as: Full sounding bass, Big soundstage, Sweet, fleshed-out midrange, Rich tone, Ever so slightly relaxed in the top-end.
I've prefer the Gold Lion in the the last two circuits I've tried it in, but not this amp as it just too much of a good thing clarity and detail wise, with not enough tube warmth in a system that needs it.
I hope this helps! -
That helps a great deal jake as I am looking for more details in the top end so I get the most out of the panel in the martin logans

If you like detail, The Gold Lion 6922 is the tube for you; shop around a little as prices vary by a few dollars site to site.
