For a 7.1 system, can I use all Blackstone TL1 or TL2?

Hi,

I have a 7.1 HT and somewhat recently I've replaced the receiver, subwoofer, and center channel. I'd like to swap out the rest of the speakers (all from Harman Kardon). Currently I have two speakers in the entertainment center (HKS 3), two mounted on the side walls, and two on the rear walls (all HKTS 7).

Could I use Blackstone TL1s or TL2s to replace those speakers? It's not clear from what I've read if the TL speakers are surround speakers only or if they can also be located in the front left and right.

Thanks!

Paul

Sure you can, I'd hit up the tl 2's. Don't know about placing them on a wall though, the speaker cabinet looks awkward to be hung on a wall. I'm sure there is a special bracket for it though for just that reason. Go for it, It would be a nice step up from what you have now.

All the TL satellites work wonderfully as front speakers (and not just surround speakers). Theyr called surround sound systems which means inclusive of the front stage as well so no worries there.

Also both TL1s and TL2 can easily be mounted on the wall (hung on a screw).

(If your budget permits, you definitely want the TL2s :))

You can definitely use the TL's as a surround setup. They can be used for any of the speakers including the fronts. As others have said i would step to the TL's if money allows.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

Great...thanks guys! I really appreciate the help!

One question about wall mounting - I know the TL1s and TL2s can either be mounted with a screw or on a bracket. If they're mounted with a screw they'll point straight out (like my current speakers do). Would it be better to use brackets so they can be pointed down towards the seating area?

    Thanks,
