With my own eyes and in total disbelief.....I saw an 8 year old boy in the waiting room reading a BOOK! Yes folks, it was a book, complete with real pages made from paper. It didn't have any batteries, it didn't have a screen and it didn't make any noise or have any wires attached to it.

I congratulated the young man, shook his hand, and also told the parents that they did a wonderful job. My only regret is that I didn't document the event with a picture....you will have to take my word on it.

Hope for the future, as small as it may have been.

Not to worry, the Apple police will scoop him up for reprograming.

Then the school will suspend the poor lad for reading books not approved by them.

Kudos to the parents anyway, nice to hear.

I just bought my 13 year old a couple of books she chose on a trip to Boston. BOTH were hard covers--not e-books? There is room in the world for all formats.

What's important is that 'they' keep 'reading'!!
