I plan on ordering 12 awg wire tomorrow at Monoprice........I need to know if the wire length needs to be the same?

Front left is 40ft--right front is 30 feet--center is 35 feet...do I need to make all length at 40 feet? That way the signal gets to speakers at exact same time..right?

If not then i can save some cash and get less wire?

Please explain why or why not....if you have the knowledge and time PLEASE

The speed at which electrical signals pass through a wire makes your question moot. 5 or 10 or 15 feet will not make a difference to your ears...you're fine at any of those lengths even if they are different. For all practical purposes the speed is instantaneous and simultaneous.

You're good! Think of a telephone call to China or Japan...now there's some 'distance' but there really aren't any problems in communication.

    Good Luck!

For runs that short, it's not necessary to have them the same size. I have different lengths for my surround speakers. 30 feet for one and 45 feet for the other and no audible difference. It's different when you have something like 300 feet for one speaker, and 12 feet for another. For extremes like that, same size runs are more necessary.
