Those is some nice looking speakers. Nice gear as well...

I always liked Legacy Speakers. Except maybe the clear woofers.

I've never understood the fascination with them personally. They sound ok.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Probably price, Mark. The cat down in FL seems to like them well and he is a trusted ear. Maybe different gear/room/acoustics? Who knows?

Absolutely. I know a dude in VA that has a full 6.1 of these...well, not of that model but Legacy Audio. It sounds great and so does the 2CH setup but I've just heard much better. He's happy, who cares, you know?

Eh, it comes down to taste or maybe even flavor at the level they are at. I would imagine they sound like a party speaker with the typical ribbon "throw the sound everywhere" signature. Could be wrong, I don't know. I prefer spot on locational cues.

I'll see if he's close to where I am going this weekend...

Please allow me to add one more thing. The last time I listened to Legacy's, the overall sound was nice but the tone was off.

I don't believe the ribbon and actual rolloff to the other drivers works for me. The whole upper end transition is off in other words....mismatched perhaps.

well then unless you've heard them then you couldn't understand. I have been to Springfield Illinois where they are made and the Whispers sound much better than others in the line. Mr. Dudleston is one remarkable fellow and will treat you like one of the family even knowing that you could NEVER afford his products.

    carry on:biggrin:

I have heard them, as stated in the thread and I'm sure he's a very nice individual. They still sound O K. Carry on.

    Just to verify:
So you haven't heard the Whispers ("not that model" - Doro)
    And you can't afford them.
For the record, please clarify.:confused:
