Hello-

I have a pair of adcom 545 II's, adcom preamp and a pair of SDA 2's

I am trying to hook up the speakers and not having any luck with researching a clear answer and hooking them up has been far from successful. I'm starting to think I might have #$@%&$@ up one of my amps or even speakers...wow. Was that a loud and painful noise...

Is this even possible?

I have 2 Y connectors out of the preamp, and then a pair of cables off each respective Y splitter to each amp. Which should be ok to this point? When I connect the speakers, which/where/what combo do they connect to their respective amp? My first two attempts failed.

Does somebody have an experience with doing the same?

Thanks for the help!
Jason

The SDA2's aren't bi-ampable. Their isn't really any possible way that I'm aware of that will allow you to connect two amps to them.

So I can't use a standalone Adcom 545 amp for each SDA-2 speaker.

    As mono block amps? No.

those are decent amps and just one of them would be fine for your SDA's but you might want to sell them both and get a better amp.

Good luck and let us know.

Nope. There wouldn't really be a point anyway.

Hypothetically speaking, even if it was possible...there wouldn't really be an advantage. The 545 isn't bridgable, so you'd still only be driving each speaker with one channel off of each amp...so you'd still only be driving each speaker with 100 watts.

I'm driving my SDA 2A's with an Adcom 545, and it's got plenty of power.
