Connections inside the LSi

I just replaced resistors in my LSi15's because they burnt out. When I was doing that I noticed that the wires are connected to the speakers with good old sliding "clips." Nothing special.
People spend hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars on interconnects with gold plated connectors, etc.
But, wouldn't that make the individual connectors inside the speakers the weakest link then? They are not even soldered on.
I am just curious. Are these fancy speaker wires useless unless you upgrade/mod wires and connectors inside the speaker?

The path is short enough that it really doesn't matter....which some people also believe in regards to fancy speaker cables. I've upgraded a bunch of crossovers but only 2 sets of cables and connectors internally. It's generally found to make no audible difference.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
