Hi fellas.

Is it possible to have 2 browsers installed? Right now I'm using IE9 which just got installed a couple of days ago, and now I can't post to one site.

Can I download & install say Firefox, and switch back & forth between IE & Firefox as needed, or does one have to be dominate?

One will still have to be the default, but you can have as many browsers as you want on your machine.

    Cathy,

While I'm not a huge advocate of IE, I use it successfully on quite a few machines. When the upgrade was installed, security settings were probably changed and all you need to do is "re-add" the website you are unable to post to.

Go to . . . "Tools / Internet Options / Privacy tab / Sites button / Address of website: / Allow" and add type in the web address you are unable to post after "Address of website:" polkaudio.com, where I'm using polkaudio.com as an example

There's a chance that you will have to do this if you install Firefox too so I'd try it before you go to the trouble of installing a new browser.

I have IE9, Firefox, SeaMonkey and Opera all installed on the system I'm on now. Hell, I have IE, Firefox and Opera on my phone as well. You can even have them all open and loading the same site if you want.

Yeah... for some reason, I feel the need to use multiple browsers. It might be a form of schizophrenia, but I really like trying out the new versions. Firefox is almost always my default, though.

I honestly switched to Firefox 5 years ago and never looked back. I have tried Chrome, IE8, IE9, Opera, and Safari. And I keep coming back to Firefox lol.....

The new version is really kick butt with load time and a clean looking layout.

But yes, run as many of them as you want and pick the best one or two

I'm pretty happy with Chrome....it's especially good on my for the road netbook because it doesn't have all the unnecessary items the IE comes with. I'd say the Chrome is several orders 'faster' on the netbook than IE (any version). As a result of this I also use it on my main laptop, though I also have a copy of IE and Firefox there.

I started using Opera Mobile on my Thunderbolt and absolutely love it so I tried Opera 11 a while back and really like it. It has plenty of cool features and seems to perform as well as any other. Chrome feels a little snappier but Opera is no slouch.

I think at this point in time, theyre all very solid so its just a matter of personal preference.
