I have one of the richter scales. It cannot be beat. If I had 3 or 4 I would give you a good deal on one. It is worth looking for!

I'll help keep an eye out for one for you...

The Richter Scale is made by Audio Control. It is a bass equalizer/crossover. It has 6 bands of EQ within the bass frequencies. The crossover portion allows you to cross over at whatever frequency you want. It also has has a warble tone generator which allows you to connect a microphone to the unit, watch a meter and equalize the bass. Very clean noise free unit.

Madmax, Do you think the richter scale will solve my problems? I have 1.2tl's but I have them in the basement with a drop ceiling. It really sucks up the bass. I was going to bi-amp with the richter on the bottom. What do you think? Any ideas? Thanks Tom

Absolutely not. I would never do that. That is just my opinion though. I would hook it up to a subwoofer and leave the SDA's alone. Adding extra bass is just going to mess up the great midrange and flex all the surrounds too much.

I'm not talking about putting the pedal to the floor. I just Want to plump up the bass a litte. Would I be better off going with a pair of C-131's? If I'm going to use the subwoofer I might be better off getting a set of SRT's. It's about the same money!

The 131's would make more sense but you still end up doing the same thing. Truthfully I would still worry about exercising 10+ year old drivers any more than they are. Think of it this way. That combination of drivers moving as much as they do can be real bass monsters in the right room. Even if you double the travel in a bad setting you still are not going to get what you want and will end up abusing your polks with little benifit. You NEED a sub, different placement or some room refinements. Maybe a chair with some shakers or something? BTW, you can build a high output sub pretty cheaply if you try.
