Quad 988's - $2350.

From my personal collection....

My personal pair of Quads...I've posted extensively about them so I won't go into detail about them here suffice to say that within thier parameters I doubt there is a more musical speaker available.

Mine are in excellent shape...easy 8/10. They have been given a clean bill of health from Alex at the Analog Shop in Raliegh NC (authorized service tech). I also have the boxes and manuals. The are also the more desireable (re expensive) 'classic' finish as opposed to the standard black. The grill cloth was changed to a more attractive and acoustically transparent fabric but I also have the original grill cloth as well.

Now, as far as price, you can find them cheaper, I'll get that out of the way. However, I'm not desparate to sell them and two, these are low mileage, well cared for speakers. If you are thinking about Quads, the panels are a crapshoot....mine have been serviced and all questionable panels have been replaced so there is piece of mind there.

My price to you is 2350 plus shipping. I'm in Fayetteville NC, if you are on the east coast, I'll deliver a reasonable distance on the I-95 corridor. Obviously local pickup in Fayetteville or Charleston SC would be ideal.

These are life changing speakers, not just another pair of monkey coffins. I've heard these extensively and seen them closer than you should without clothing....very transparent and revealing. Exactly as everyone describes Quad's but with adjectives that actually mean something deeper.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

These speakers stand with a few select "legends" of hi-fi. Someone is going to be very, very happy.

Nope. Unfortunately, you can't do that with a transparent speaker.

I'm just going to give this an el-BUMPO....I've still got the 988's and there are a couple speakers that are tugging at my heart strings.....

That said, I'm not desperate to sell these but would be open to offers (but not trades). I also no longer have the boxes so you'd have to pick up in person or I'd be willing to drive some to deliver....

Should you really be standing that close to them without your clothes on?
