Marantz DP 870? Worth messing with?

ok. I just picked up a adcom GFA-7000 amp. With it came a parasound pre amp pf 1500 and a Marantz Dolby Digital Processor DP 870. I really don't know anything about the Marantz and if it's worth messing with. I also wonder if or how to use the parasound pre amp. I have a HK 354. I hooked up the amp yesterday to the HK. Amp seems to be working fine. I use my HK since I run everything trough it to get HDMI video signal to my projector.

Question:
Is it worth messing with the parasound pre?
the Marantaz?
or neither?
