She wanted to park her SUV in the shade for her sons all day baseball tournament, check out what son guy named 'Ralph' says at 1:50 in.

I don't feel terrible for her. She passed up open parking spots to park in the shade. If you're that worried about it, don't buy a black escalade.

On the other hand, I understand that $15 tickets isn't getting the job done...but there is a middle ground...like say $150.

Punishment doesn't fit the crime IMO.

Where I come from, if there's a red painted curb, you don't park in front of or behind it. They ticket, and tow your car.
She's got a $60k Escalade, she can afford it for being stuck up.

It is what it is. There are signs all over the place telling you not to park on the grass. Just because one isn't in the exact spot she parked does not mean it is ok.
As for the price, DEAL WITH IT. You broke the law and the now you have to pay the price. Don't like it, cry me a river. That is my take on it.

Meh, thats what you get for prime parking. I see it EVERYDAY at grocery stores, I can't tell you how many times I've walked out the door, and had to walk around a car that was parked and locked in front of the entrance of the store. EVERY column is marked no parking, plus a striped yellow fire lane, give me a freaking break.

The guy the news interviewed was right. They should have lined her up and just shot her. On less self centered persion in the world.

I also like how she justified doing it by saying other people were doing it as well.

It doesn't matter who you are, how much you make or how much you spend for your car; the punishment does not fit the crime.

I like the way the smug prosecutor explains the people don't own the trees. Oh, wait, the taxpayers DO own those trees (and pay his salary).

She shouldn't have done it, and she deserves a fine. But that is cruel and unusual punishment, and its unconstitutional. No way the city can defend a fine that large for that crime.

In her hour of grief, I'd be willing to step up and give her some consolation ...... mmmmmmm ........ that'd learn her. That'd learn her real good.

Like the City Manager said in the tape,
"We've got signs. You've got to respect the signs".

You scofflaws hear that ? You've GOT to respect the signs !!
