These would be a great item for the Polk museum.

Is there really a polk museum? I picked up their old logo years ago when they changed it, seems like that should go in a museum too but I'd never give it up.

I remember it came with an "Authentic Certificate of Authentication" which I think was Micahs idea. I mean, how often is a certificate of authentication labeled as authentic???

I could leave it to the museum in my will but then I'd be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life, however short it would be.

Yes, there is a "museum" of sorts, if by museum you mean a long hallway between the main conference room, break room and 12v area.

A handful of old school members and I have bought and donated speakers and other things to the "hallway". TroyD, Russman, Tour2Ma, Reeltrouble1, F1Nut and a couple others that are escaping me at the moment. We've assembled generic vintage Polk speakers in conjunction with a couple rare examples and a pair of the very first Polk speakers made in the garage days, that Polk dug up from the back room.

I'm currently collecting anything literature wise and compiling it into a "tome" of sorts that can and will be distributed to any registered Polkie that asks.

It's an ongoing process and if anyone comes across something rare or not really talked about on the forum, please contact me directly. mnestor@ polkaudio.com

Mark - I'll bet you didn't know that hallway was the site for the first and only Polk Audio Pinewood Derby. At the time a few of us had kids in Cub Scouts and thought it would be fun to race each other. Stu opened it up to all employees with the backing of Matthew Polk and others on the executive committee. The Derby was won by Stu Lumsden VP of Engineering or should I say his son Chris' car. Cheers.

No, I didn't know that man....sweet. We should have that again for the 40th anniversary up at HQ next year. A Polkie vs Polk Employee Derby.

I do, in lovely rosewood vinyl, and it does literally just collect dust in the basement at this late date. It has a very low serial number; purchased (of course) from Soundscape.
I think I have even have the factory box :-)
I will get back to you by PM anon.

Are there any Polkies between MA and MD that would be willing to shuttle Mhardy's LF14's down to me at Polk HQ? It wouldn't have to be a long trip...maybe about 1-2 hours a leg? I'm in DC...believe we have a couple PA folks in Jdhdiggs and Nadams...George Grand, Ohskigod and Jstas in NJ...Lasareath and Face in NY...maybe Capecodder? After NYC I'm at a loss as to who is a regular here.

Let us know in this thread as we'd like to avoid freight costs and it would be for a greater good. There is no hurry but if we could wrap this up my July 15th, it would be great.

I picked up a bunch of the alternate round version of Polk Cobra Cable last year (the A'gon listing is the flat version) intending to fashion some speaker cables. The insulation is toxic and so hard to work with that I realized I don't have the skills required to terminate it. I'd be willing to pay someone to terminate a few sets, and then I would be happy to donate a set to that long hallway.

I only want a single, 6ft pair to display and would gladly offer to terminate as you wish for the exchange. The flat version is also desireable as an example.

I have two full coils of that exact flat cable. I don't believe it was ever used. It's being shipped to you Doro.

    Russ - Yes. It's a PITA.

George - Thanks very much, it's appreciated. I have a small goody box being setup for you as well.

    Hey Mark,

Have you had an opportunity to look at the museum donation and the Cobra/Furutech Rhodium combo I sent?

You are a gentleman and a scholar (and I know you are too busy to be messing with this pesky project too) so a big THANKS!

We had my father-in-law staying with us for over 2 months and my man cave becomes our 6th bedroom, so I'd only managed about 2 hours of listening over that time period :frown:.

I'm back at it all day long now and catching up
