That would mean the tonearm on it is not part of the package, and opens up yet another question... who made the arm?

That arm looks like an early Airtangent design. I have an Advanced Analog MG-1 marketed by Ada Lin that I picked up from docilantro for my Lenco project. The MG-1 appears to be a copy of the Airtangent arm. Arthur Salvatore even said so, but published this follow up.

From the Arthur Salvatore Reference Tonearm page in regards to the MG-1?

    http://www.high-endaudio.com/RC-Tonearm.html
    1) The tonearm is NOT made in China, but in the USA.
    2) The owner is not Chinese.
    3) It is NOT a copy of an Air Tangent, as the air bearing design is a development of a completely different designer (Poul Ladegaard) and it was designed BEFORE the similar LOOKING Air Tangent.

My sincere apologies to Ada Lee."

I have no idea who's on first with the designs of these arms. I would presume Ada Lin provided the info about Poul Ladegaard to Arthur.
