Tyler Acoustics Taylo Reference II

Well I bought these for a project speaker and they have been just that and a fun one at the same time. So now it is time to move these and acquire another set of project speakers!
I remember back in 2006 or 2007 when I approached Ty about acquiring a set of his speakers. After much talk at that time the best speaker in his line I could afford was the Taylo 7u. These speakers had a MTM configuration with the Seas Excel woofers and the Scanspeak Revelator - fell in LOVE with those speakers. Loved them, excellent excellent stuff.
Well fast forward to late 2008, early 2009 Ty released his Decade line up and the bug bit me again!! I wanted to try out the D2 so bad I could taste it - so I did, order was fired his direction. I will admit I did not like those speakers at all. So on to the Super Towers which until I come across better will remain my "Statement" speakers as Doro calls them! HAHA. The Super Towers were an ordinary speaker very similar to my beloved 7u until I modified them. Modified they are hands down the best set of speakers I have ever heard and I have heard quite a few in all price brackets all the way up to Wilson Alexandrias, Sophias, Martin Logans, Sonus Fabers, etc etc etc... The guidance of Mike (Face) on here and just research in general pointed me in a direction to unlock new heights in my audio adventure.
So you now you have read two paragraphs and we have not even taked about the speakers for sale - this is crazy! LOL! The reason being is simple - Ty came to me about three months ago when a friend of mine was in the market for some home audio gear as he knew I had always wanted a set of the Taylo Reference series - I just love the design and honestly if they do not sell at the price I want they will stay here and I will maybe list them for sale every once in a while and see what happens...
Well at this point in time I will say they are 92% of my Super Towers, imaging, depth, detail, clarity, bass slam, extension the whole shabang! They are very neutral speakers with HUGE staging now. With height and weight to the instruments you will have a hard time touching in this price point. The bass is solid to 25hz all day and extremely punchy, tight and accurate. They do lack a little bit of texture in the bass that my Super Towers have...
You can read about the mods here -

All I am getting at - I will drive up to 4 hours one way to deliver, set up and make sure you are happy with these speakers - I am that confident in their performance with my modifications...
Now to the nitty gritty...
These speakers have a rock star driver line up...
Tweeter: Scanspeak Revelator

Midbass: Seas Excel 7"
https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_228_256&products_id=784
They use four (4) 8" woofers per cabinet. There is two on the interior of the cabinet and two on the exterior of the cabinet. The baskets of these drivers have two layers of dynamat on them to prevent resonance.
The tweeter crossover network features the Clarity Cap MR capacitor
https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=404_5_351_413&products_id=8372
Complete with a Mundorf Supreme 20 watt resistor and a Mills 12 watt resistor
The woofer network uses Clarity SA
https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=404_5_351_352&products_id=8130
And a Mundorf Supreme 20 watt resistor.
The crossovers are mounted externally for quick maintenance, modifications and to reduce resonance. The bottom of the network enclosures have dynamat and twelve rubber isolation feet between it and the cabinet. The top interior of the cover has no rez that reduces vibrations on the enclosure and the capacitors in the box.
The terminals are insulated gold plated binding post. The jumper wires on the back are four 14 awg conductors per side (so basically 8-10 awg jumpers) with Banana plugs. I will also include DH Labs wire (T-14) for the tweeter jumper just for preference sakes...
The terminals plates were upgraded from plastic to nice Aluminum plates.
The base of the speaker was upgraded from 1" thick platform to 2" thick platform for a better look and a larger center of gravity.
The only issues with these speakers is some of the grills have a fracture in the frame - but it does not hinder their ability to do their job and are not noticeable when on unless really looking hard. The other issue is on the right speaker it had been damaged previously when shipping - most of the damage was on the old bases but it went up to the cabinet a little but is not very noticeable at all. Replacing the bases corrects this issue 85% and Ty fixed most of the damage to the cabinet before shipping them to me.
Each speaker has brand new seals and all ports were checked for a solid mount...
To the grit of the matter - I have access to boxes to ship these... I will remove the crossovers during shipping and everything will be boxes up accordingly to arrive to you in one piece...
As mentioned previously I would be willing to drive up to 4 hours one way to deliver, set up these speakers for you - I am that confident in their performance!
These sold brand new stock for $5,000 - upgrades alone total up to just above $900.00 - from a manufacture stand point this would easilly boost the sale price to 8,000 dollars and they would compete with speakers in that price range without issue.
Price shipped will be $2,800.00
Price picked up will be $2,500.00
Price me delivering it will be $2,500 + gas each direction
These will be available for demo and are worth a drive.
I can take as many pics as necessary.

- All inductors are air core.
- Internal wiring in the bass cabinet is DH Labs. (Silver plated copper) The top cabinet uses Supra wire (Silver)
- All cabinets are lined with No Rez for damping the bass wave, this tightens up the bass and helps with cabinet resonance.
http://www.gr-research.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=103 - Grills are mounted with velcro.
- Top cabinet features Diffraction Be Gone

Wanted to add there will be a two week lead time on these so I can acquire boxes and packing materials for the crossovers and bass cabinets...
They will most likely go out sooner than that but I would rather tell you a longer time frame than a shorter one.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

What makes these unique to me (because I hate monitors generally) is they sound and image like monitors but have the large scale sound of towers with maybe a notch or two less output but plenty of slam...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
