    I do have the re-mastered 2 cd set of Tea for the Tillerman and it is way better then the original cd. I can imagine the sacd will be even better. Thanks for posting this.

    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I know man....and I've tried to really get into some of these selections but I just can't. I appreciate much of what is regarded as classic in this genre, for example but not most of what is re-released, re-mastered or otherwise on SACD or better formats. It's simply not what I listen to or otherwise used to listen to.

    I really feel left out when it comes to music in hi-res format and can't possibly be alone based on overall sales activity per title.

    I understand. You would probably purchase some of the current music genres that are more to your liking in a hi-rez format. IMO you are in the minority and current stuff just doesn't sell well...at least not well enough to make it mainstream. I bought some of the releases of current music releases (at the time) on SACD...like Train, Zebrahead, Snow Patrol, Beck, NIN, John Mayer. Mostly they are good. But they haven't been too difficult to get...even when OOP which tells me the market just isn't that strong.

    I think we agree that SACD has become a niche market...and for the most part the guys willing to buy the hi-rez formats are older...with roots in classic rock, classic, jazz or classical. I'm still not convinced the iPod generation will ever spring for a $3 per song hi-rez download (if it ever becomes available) over a $1 standard copy. Unless that happens...the majority of hi-rez will be from the past.

    To me good art is good art...regardless of the artist. Crazy people...eccentric people....people that are ideological opposites of myself (for any magnitude of topics)...can all create beautiful and interesting art...be it painting, photography, music, literature...whatever. If I limited myself to only those that I agree with for whatever reason...I would be depriving myself the opportunity to experience some truly great art. To do so is just ignorant...IMO.

    In fact...some of my favorite music, literature and art have been created by people whose personal and political ideology is totally opposite from me. I would be less of a person if I had shunned their work simply because of some sort of ideology.

    I said I admire the art...not the ideology or the person.

    There IS a difference.

    Absolutely correct. My listening market and genre is even smaller and will never make it to SACD, if Hi-Res format at all. The SACD that even come close to my interest, and I'm certainly not alone, just isn't enough for me as a full bodied collection of artists.

    We both lose out in that they can't satisfy either individual in the the end.

    I just wish they would continue on with dual layer SACD for all titles....but that will never happen. It will continue to be piece meal titles from Pink Floyd and Zepplin, for example, and 10,000+ Classical releases that the majority of the public could care less about. It's because they can buy the rights cheap since the other mainstream titles are grossly exagerrated in regards to master tape release and even moreso in regards to the cost involved to re-master them properly.

    It wouldn't surprise me if **** loses more money in the process than they do in the actual release....unless volume offsets the cost, which is why they're so selective.

    I hear you shackdaddy... Have to add that the original, AAD releases of classic rock on CD were often very poor. Many remasters greatly improved the SQ and built expectation that SACD would yield even more sonic jollies, which most have delivered.

    Later stuff, e.g., NIN, sounded pretty damn good from the get-go. Never had the urge to upgrade them.
