I'm looking at buying a Polk Rtia7. My question is since i have a sub what cross over setting sould i set the front speaker at? I'v read post that say set the cross over at 80, send all low frequency to the sub.
Or should i set at full range .I've also read that a Rtia5 with a sub is better then rtia7 without. Since i have a desent sub (dsw micropro 2000) the latter is not a option. So i`m wondering on the recommendation on the settings.
Thanks in advance.

I would set the crossover at 80 and set fronts to large.

I'm pretty sure if they are set to large it does not matter what the crossover is set at as it will run them full range.

I would cross them at 80 to start and set to small. If you think they can handle a bit more, bump them down to 60.

I ran mine at 80 most of the time.

Good luck with your new speakers.

Your AVR will determine some of these parameters since some won't let you choose one without a default to another. They can certainly run full range but I'd start with small @ 80hz.

I currently have my 7s set to full range and the double bass on. That way you will still have output from the sub.

Here's a great article on the subject matter. My entire LSi 5.2 system is set to "small" & the 80Hz XO is used for all speakers. Sound awesome for both HT & 2 channel. I've played around with various set up's & settings but the "small"/80Hz XO always provided the best audible results.

it depends on your ears. I've rti8s, which is same as the Rtia5, but set at small 70hz because at 80hz, I still hear voices, directional coming out of the sub.
