SR sub doesn't sound right

My sub just doesn't sound that great at all. I have the SR DVC 10". My custom box has 84 cu and I'm running it on the Polk 1200.1. Not sure if its my box are what but it seems to distort a bit when I turn it up. I hope its just my set up somehow. I was expecting so much more from it. Any thoughts? Would love to hear opinions. :frown:

If it's new, let it break in.

You've got the DVC version, is it wired up correctly?

    Set your gains/settings appropriately?

Btw, welcome to the forum. That's a killer sub/amp combo you've got there.

Make sure your wiring at the subs is hooked up fully and correct. my wires werent in all the way and the same thing was happening. try making a larger box and see if it makes a difference. sometimes boomy small boxes sound wrong?

What is your xover point for the sub/mid? Like already mentioned, turn the gains down.
