    Actually a signature only shows up once per page of a thread.

    So if you make 3 posts on the first page of the thread your sig shows up on the first post you make and not on the subsequent posts on page 1 of the thread. If you post again, say on page 3, the signature shows up again on your 1st post on page 3, and if you post again on page 3 it won't show up until you post a new page, say page 4.

    Obviously this is to reduce clutter in the threads.
