I saw these awhile back and was considering them. They are few and far between. It was a stretch because they are so far away but it is not past me to deal with the issue. Then, he started adding comments. The first one was OK but as time went on he kept going. I would be very apprehensive about a deal at this point unless I was around the corner from him. I'm sure he is probably OK but this sort of thing raises doubts.

Had a bad experience with a nutty agon seller listed below...late last year was bidding on below and I was out bid. The same turntable and seller popped up 3month's later on regular sale. Contacted seller asked him if I could take a look and would come with cash his answer was why???? what else do you want to know? Told him I was excited that he was local and wanted to look and buy.

Call and emails got wishy washy. Anyway I passed then shortly afterwards the bad comments against popped up....I am about 90% sure after to speaking to other agon members I was actually bidding against him anamously at the original auction

Local pick-up and cash is a sellers dream; unless the sellers is up to no good or playing funny business. That's just to bad of a situation.

I guess to start, those are awesome speakers at a great price....if you have the room for 'em. Shipping those monsters would be a nightmare. As for all those comments in his ad...well,it is the SF area, people are a tad weird there. It would be worth the trip to oversee someone you hire to crate and ship those bad boys. Trios....under 10g's ? No brainer if you have the cash.

What type of music do these types of speakers shine with?

Pretty much anything. The only real character I would associate with them is "big and full sound stage and highly dynamic" which are both a plus with all types of music.

I've seen uglier loudspeakers that sounded very, very good.

Well, if the Trio's Horns were painted Red, yellow and green, they'd sound great with some Bob Marley mon

Seriously, that room he had them in was waaaay too small, those puppies need some space, if my room looked like his, my partner would kick my butt.

Well, I was saying if the sister come with the the Trios (not with the Apogee).

Anyway, the Trios were rated 5/10 on Agon rating. So, it's an OK deal if you are a local and knows how to read the seller blogs.
