Hi guys, just wonderin if anyone could help me set up my HT, first of all I'm noob when it comes to advance HT set up, I might know the basic but I'm not really that technical, my question is, I have 4x Polk monitor 70, 4x Polk monitor 60, cs100 and psw 404 sub and harman kardon avr 347 on a 20 x 20 room with 10 feet ceiling. What would be the best way to set up my system to what ever i have. ans will buying an amplifier would help me? any info will be a big help. Thanks in Advance

Run whatever autosetup program the HK has (if it has one).

Then go into the settings and set all your speakers to "Small" and set the crossover frequency for each to 80. Set the sub to 80 as well and you should be good to go.

I'm just curious as to why 8 speakers and a center. If I was the op, I would sell one set of 60's and upgrade the center to at least the cs2. Also, what receiver are you using to drive 9 speakers ?
    HT SYSTEM-
    Sony 850c 4k
    Pioneer elite vhx 21
    Sony 4k BRP
    SVS SB-2000

    Polk FX500 surrounds

    Cables-
    Acoustic zen Satori speaker cables
    Acoustic zen Matrix 2 IC's
    Wireworld eclipse 7 ic's
    Audio metallurgy ga-o digital cable

    Sonos zp90
    Grant Fidelity tube dac
    B&k 1420

Jesus, I didnt notice how many speakers you had.

An external amp if possible is probably required for that many speakers running off that AVR.

@tonyb I only have my 2 Monitor 70 as my front and monitor 60 as my surround, the cs100 and sub hooked up right now, I plan to use my other set of monitor 60 as my s/back to complete my 7.1, but i noticed a changed in the sounds. It's not as crisp and as load as it used to be. So i was wondering to upgrade just don't know what to do, and what to get. I thought of buying an amplifier to power my speaker instead on the receiver and since I am planning to upgrade I thought i could use my other Monitor 70 in my bedroom to complete a 9.1

Good point.... the most you need is 6 speakers plus a good center and a nice sub. The CS2 is your best bet and some external amplification would definitely be good if your running those 70's.

So just keep the Monitor 70 and 4x monitor 60 as my surround and s/back and upgrade the center speaker should be my set up and just not use the other set of 70's. and just get an external amp to power my speakers?

The more speakers you load on an AVR the less power each gets. Your probably noticing that bottleneck. Get a good external amp and it will go away.

I would probably recommend getting a 5 channel and you can power the surround rears off your AVR.

Its 55x7 2 channels driven so honestly its prob ~40 x7 with all channels driven..

Depends, what kinda cash we talking here?

Honestly even something like a 80x5 amplifier would be better than your HK. But it all depends on how much you would have to get one. Used is probably going to be your best bet.
